crz_06
i'm having some troubles making a realistic polystyrene material. I tried using the architectural material with Plastic as Default Template. I use a Cellular map as bump and change diffuse color to white. The 'index of refraction' of the polystyrene material is 1.55. I'm not familair with the other available settings, so any pointers are very welcome. What would be a good light setup for this material?, want to use it on a single object. Right now i use mental ray renderer
nisus
Hi, Try to avoid arch.mats with MR. A good start might be to use a MR-material, drop a DGS-map on the diff slot, and tweak that with the IOR and colors. D = your color / G = 0 / S = 0 / Shiny = 6. Copy this material from the diffuse slot to the photon slot. Add a bump if you want. Good luck, be sure to post an image ,-) rgds, nisus
