Geoffc
Hi. Brand new vray user here. I'm onto the Aversis material tutorial http://www.aversis.be/extra_tutorials/vray_basic_material_settings_01.htm and stuck on step one! My materials and scene just seem way too overexposed. No matter which setting, that first orange teapot seems to have a neon glow. I've gone through the settings many times to verify it's exactly as the tutorial suggests, and even tried adjusting some settings to no avail. I realize that there is a huge amount of reading/discussion about the gamma/exposure/linear issues that I need to learn, but what baffles me is that this being a basic tutorial, the author mentions nothing of adjusting those levels to get his first result. Therefore, I figure I'm missing some very basic setting right off the bat (GI?). It even looks like he's using the default image buffer. BTW, I'm using Viz 07 and Vray 1.47.03. Ricardo Eloy
Go to Rendering > Environment > Exposure Control and turn it off.
Geoffc
I'm at work now, and can't try it yet, but that must be it. I tried adjusting the "logarythmthic exposure" settings, but never thought of just turning it all off in the first place! thx!
