fts
I have upgraded from Version 1.45 to 1.46 but my renderings in 1.46 are not generally as good as 1.45 with exactly the SAME file, and vray render presets. Compare images attached. Why could it be? Thanks.
stanslavov
hi - i think you have some mistake in model - this mistake is harecter for two models (faces) - pls delete model to view how faces or models have under by head model you can read more in forum of http://www.chaosgroup.com or http://www.spot3d.com best regards Stanislav
kippu
yes thats definitely a coplanar issue ... like 2 faces at the same place ...deleting one will clear this issue
hidr
I think the issue is not what's the problem with that scene, it's the way that different versions handle it and I think its obvious that the previous version of vray handles that better. I think that we should see more "problems" and "differences" between the two versions in order to decide which is better. If you make models with model like this, with coplanar faces, etc. you should change the way you are modeling or stay with the older verion of v-ray. Christopher Nichols
Or an easier way to deal with it is to simply increase the secondary ray bias slightly and it will be the same.
ihabkal
after you open the file in the new vray charged max, revert to the scanline rendere, then reassign vray as the renderer and re-input manually all your settings. that should do it. the new programming of newer versions means some settings get in the wrong places when you open it and do a straight rerender. olbo
Simply go into vray and increase the value of the secondary ray bias. pretty much like it sounds. Hello Jose, I just wanna add, you'll find it under "Global switches". increase it to 0.001, that should help. ;o) take care Oleg
fts
The Secondary Ray Bias did the trick. Thanks. Are there any tutorials where one learns these various settings and what they do?
