abl_langs
Hi guys, I am currently working on an animation, can somebody help me on how to create sky for animation(need not to be animated sky).. I've tried putting a dome on the whole model and add some materials (gradient ramp) as sky, but it will illuminates the scene.. Is there any tutorials for that? Thanks.. signet
If you want a complete spherical environment with moving coulds etc? without just rotating a sky dome. Or using a single view http://skytimelapse.com/ Try this Get a nice High res sky from www.1000skies.com bring that into combustion or aftereffects use the RE:Vision flex morph to move and distort the shape of the clouds in the sky map. I find this very effective. I have just re-read your post. NEED NOT to be animated.......ignore the above. in your case just use one of the www.1000skies.com if you want a nice sky dome Dosch skies are not high enough res for animation backgrounds. There OK for reflection and thats about it. Cheers Mike
mahorela
i might be over simplifying this but why don't you just use a high res sky as your environment, instance the map into your material editor and change the mapping type from screen to spherical environment. Always works for me providing the texture is high res enough.

hockley91
I agree with mahorela. That's how I always do it. Thanks for the links though on the animated skies....something I'll look into for the future..
