Wierdness but interesting

I set this scene up to render and everything returned the overbright warning-

I was using irradiance map and light cache with higher settings- THe first image is how it was expected to look, the second image is how it came out with all the warnings-

I lowered the Hsph and down to low in the light cache and the image came out as expected-

I then upped the quality again and turned down the light planes at each of the windows from 15 to 7.5- That image came out as expected as well-

The other light sources are a sun at 2

enviornment at15

4 spots above stove

I think parts of it look cool- I was surprised as I would expect that if the light is too bright then it would simply wash out the affected area-

Anyone know the reason for this?

Thx for the Link Flyte-

I do have the gamma correction on as suggested by others but when I use the color correction graph I am always moving things in the opposite direction- Rather than x=0 and y=6 I am around x=3 and y=1-to keep things from looking chalky-

If I lowered my light settings so that the suggested curve configuration as detailed in your link is implemented, I wonder what that would change-

I guess I'll have to give it a try and see-
