ITryMyBest
basically, max affects the speed of my mouse. it greatly slows the speed, meaning with max closed the i move the cursor completely across the screen;however, when max is open, moving the mouse the same distance barely moves the cursor across one viewport. i have checked the preference in max and have not seen anything that helps. i know i can go into windows to affect the mouse speed, but not the best using two programs at once with two different mouse speeds. any help would be greatly appreciated. mahorela
bizzare problem. Are you sure it's your mouse speed and not just your PC struggling under the burden of Max. Max has options with regards to video memory, software, opengl and direct x. If yours is set to software, this will slow the video memory down considerably and potentially slow your mouse down. In your start menu under the 3ds max section look for display configuration or graphics mode or something like that, (cant remember the name of it and havnt got max on this computer), ensure you have a recent version of direct x installed and change the graphics mode to direct x. my best guess
redlancer
I've had the same issue with Max8 as well. It seems to be that Max is not affecting the mouse speed per se, but is disabling the mouse acceleration. I found that the mouse behaves normally if you turn off the acceleration in the windows mouse config and turn up the speed. SteveJ
