mahorela
going to spend some good dollars on some new ram for my dual xeon workstation. Been looking at what boxx are using in theirs and it all seems to be DDR2 ECC, whatever that means. Can anyone give me some advice on what to buy, how will ECC Ram help over DDR1 ram and should I be going for DDR 2, most confused. I hear good things about Corsair. any advice is welcome. AJLynn
Corsair is good stuff, I usually get it from newegg.com. You should look up the guidelines for what RAM your motherboard uses, or if you can figure out what's in there now buy more of the same speed, DDRness, ECCness and CLness if you can find that out. mahorela
the stuff I am using now was always going to be replaced, it's super crap ram. Looked into the corsair stuff and they have a great website which details compatability with different motherboards. Thinking of getting this 2 gig pack http://www.corsair.com/corsair/products/specs/twinx2048-3200c2pro.pdf think it will do the job? and should I think about getting 4 gig? as my motherboard can take it. thanks very much for your help AJ
