jophus14
I'm not sure as far as the newest release goes. I have a quick question though, I heard that the glass materials take FOREVER to render out using Vray, is this true?
olbo
I don't use the simian shaders, but if I take his post seriously then they are slower ... ;o) take care Oleg
FlytE
yes they are definitely slower. Dont get me wrong they are very nice but I guess like everything else its a tradeoff.

We should have something (an early beta) to show at our booth at SIGGRAPH and at the DVC conference. The materials for Vol 2 will be: Water Concrete Grass Pavement Dirt/Soil
FlytE
Im really looking forward to those.... just wish they were available now!
crz_06
any idea when we can expect Vol2. I have Vol1, and the effects looks nice, but damn it soooo slow.. they really have to improve this in we want to use it for our poduction scenes. I used it ones and thats was the only time I missed my deadline
FlytE
I doubt the speed will be improved too much... I mean they simply made the materials high quality using the vray material settings. I wouldnt have thought there would be much to improve on. Saying that, I would have thought things like concrete and pavement should be reasonably fast... Think there might have been some confusion here: Vol 1 (already released) Architectural Glass Frosted Glass Wood Floors Lino Floors Brushed Metal Vol 2 (not yet released) Concrete Water Pavement Grass Dirt/Soil I won't comment on the release date of Vol 2, but it should not be too much longer. We are about 1/2 way done. If any of you who have Vol 1 materials would like to be a beta tester, please send me an email at jmottle@vismasters.com for consideration.
