archkre
I have a colleague who uses to pass me the cad files done with ADT 2006, but he only uses wall, doors and windows of the mentioned program. Of course, when I go to an isometric vue it is a real mess and I can't model in Sketchup! Is there a way to get that file totally flat, like a regular Autocad file (Z=0) Thank you! Bhanu
If possible ask your collegue to give one hidden line projection of the TOP view of that ADT model. This will take of all 3d information and just makes a block of 2d lines and arcs.
alikashan
well i dont know it helps you or not but i think you can export top view in wmf format and then use command line wmfin to brought back it in the acad and then its a flat2d drawing just erase the xtra lines you dont need. oluv
if you have autocad and express-tools installed, type: "flatten" this will do the trick. there is another trick, but it doesn't always work, especially with blocks, so you have to explode them first. then move everything to 0,0,1e99 and then back to 0,0,-1e99 everthing should be flat. tcorbett
If he is using the "smart" walls, doors, & windows, use the "Export to AutoCAD 2000" option available under the "File" menu. This will give you a nice 2D dwg file with all XREFs and blocks included as well.
