hi again everyone. It find it a lot easier to attached materials and blocks to lightscape. But im not satisfied with the rendering capability of lightscape. i wanted to render it in max unfortunately everytime i import the lp to max the ceiling turns out to be always black. And how on earth do i orient surfaces in max? Sorry for the too naive question. Im still a beginner.

thanks again!!!:D

It is exactly the problem of normals. You should prepare the normals in MAX before putting that in Lightscape and then back again to MAX. It's very tricky though you should soon find a good renderer in MAX and unfortunately leave Lightscape.

If you need a quick fix to change normals in Max, try the object-space Normal modifier, or depending on your model you may be able to get away with an all-two-sided workflow (turn on 2-sided in viewports and all materials, or force 2-sided in your renderer if it supports that).
