booman
I'm almost totally satisfied with 2007. I have been using it for several months and have had no performance problems. I did upgrade to a 3.0 Ghz processor running at 800 FSB, and found that my motherboard didn't have the correct BIOS to run it at full speed. But when I upgraded the BIOS, then I was up to speed. My company doesn't have 3dmax or a rendering program, so I have to do all of my 3d in Auto CAD. I think 2007 has integrate more usefull tools and programming to make 3d easier and quicker. I love the dynamic UCS for doing the press/pull functions. I also love how when you extrude it shows the shape extruding as you move your mouse. I am pretty happy with the new lighting dynamics and the materials browser. It is turning into Viz Render. The only problems I have are the landscape tools have been removed, which means I can't import trees, plants, etc. as tga for my landscaping. I don't know if they subsituted something else for those functions, but I really need the landscaping. Also, when you resize a map for a material it doesn't give you a value to represent the size. So I have to resize, render, resize, render and so forth to get my map sized correctly. The other thing is my perspective view never works correctly. When I click perspective it will still be isometric view. Very annoying.
WestCAD
I have found that when dxfout from ADT 2007 and bringing into viz, it depends on what current view is. if it is plan view some objects disappear in viz when you import/xref. If the view is 3d all objects seem to be ok in viz.
