antonio_frias
I was thinking of buying a new computer that I could share at home with my kids. I found an Hp dual core but it comes with Windows Media Center Edition installed. Does anyone know if this is more like XP professional or the Home Edition? Will I be able to run Autocad and Max on it? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this version?
angelo
Media Center Edition is just a few small apps on top of XP Pro. I've had no problems whatsoever with ACAD or Max on a Media Center Laptop. Letting your kids play on this computer is a whole other matter... Angelo
antonio_frias
Thanks for the info Angelo. I thought Media Center was based on the home edition. I'm glad to know that it is based on the xp professional plateform. As for my kids I'm having second thoughts...
