bruno_sdi
Hi there, This is my first post in the forum... It`s a test on anisotropic angle map, and a glare test to... Please C&C are realy welcome. Cheers.
Devin Johnston
Everything looks good to me, how long did you render it and what was the resolution?
bruno_sdi
Hi there, Thanks for you`r comments... This is just a small test, the resolution is just 800x600, it reached SL17 and i don`t remember the time it took, but it was about 7 h in a dual core 3.2hz. Just a question about resolution: Is it allways better to render a bigger image then scale it? Even for test renders? I heard this somewhere... (sorry, if it is a stupid question...) Thanks! Cheers
Devin Johnston
That's what they say and I suppose it makes since but I haven't tried it yet and I don't think I would do it for test renderings.
slawnick
Anytime you change the image size (up or down), you take a hit in quality. I always render to the size I need for the final output. For test renders I see no reason to render any larger than you need to evaluate.

bruno_sdi
Hi, Here is a closer test with the anisotropic material. C&C are as allways welcome to help inprove. Thanks
AdamT
Anytime you change the image size (up or down), you take a hit in quality. I always render to the size I need for the final output. For test renders I see no reason to render any larger than you need to evaluate. That's not always the case. You will get less noise in the same amount of time if you render at double the size and resample down. OTOH, effects like caustics and dispersion will be less developed.
