leoA4D
(Whisper) Alls quiet in MWR heaven – not even an "ooh! or "ah!", a "super-duper job!" or complaint has been muttered. One must believe Maxwellians are getting a needed rest with V1 being what it is, V1.1 over the horizon and V2... ? Edit: major stirrings this week here: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16031
Ernest Burden III
major stirrings this week here: Would you describe the stirrings for those of us that can't, or won't, visit that forum anymore?
Gattomanzo
But ernest, haven't you aske to be re-registered to forum yet? anyway, in the forum nobody dares to ask NL anything... its a "great tom" "dear tom" "i love you tom" parade... and no trace of 1.1 at all "all is not well"
leoA4D
Would you describe the stirrings for those of us that can't, or won't, visit that forum anymore? Star Destroyer model by Ansel Hsaio and rendered by Mike using Maxwell v1.0. The discussion is five pages of sober analysis of "scale illusion" (Tom), light emitters and buzz. Serious stuff. This might qualify as the first V1.0 hero rendering from the A-Team. IMHO, nah.
AdamT
Yeah, three pages of "OMG! Photo! Drool!" Barf. It's a very nice model but the render could have been done in virtually any package.
Gattomanzo
BTW, talking about NL great seriousness (is this a true word sam?): 1) i've received the "read email" of oscar monzon the 25/may from the one sent the 15/april about the fascist behaviour of tom... and still no answer 2) not yet received my 2nd license. 3) my mommy today confessed me that santa claus never existed should i get suicide? Adehus
Call me cynical, but I suspect that Mikey's show and tell is just an attempt to generate excitement in Maxwell's conspicuously dwindling forum. That said, there's little excitement there other than the quality of the model. Oh and the fact that it's Starwars content
_PopArt
Oh well I would let them play around as they like it will help them to get over the depression. Its pretty clear to almost everyone by now that the whole thing is a dud. Until 2.0 comes out:rolleyes:
Fran
The best thing over there right now is the Daily Photo thread. Truly great stuff.
Tim Nelson
Would you describe the stirrings for those of us that can't, or won't, visit that forum anymore? ....yeeeeah...you're not missing that much. Ernest Burden III
But ernest, haven't you aske to be re-registered to forum yet? I'm going to do so right after I get the appology that the child-god Tom owes Adam and me.
Fran
You don't need to ask to be reinstated. Just register another user name and lurk. There's no shame in it. I can understand your not wanting to communicate with them, but having a read-only registration is certainly convenient.
leoA4D
Lurk? Yep, cherry pick with no muss, no fuss. Get more done. It's more positive, more constructive.
Devin Johnston
Going to the Maxwell forum used to be the highlight of my day, now I cringe every time I open the. The star wars star destroyer is nice but again I'm pretty sure Mike could have done a better job on it with the beta. There is just something about it that doesn’t look a real as his other star wars stuff.
leoA4D
I drop in and stay just long enough to see if I can learn something useful and off I go – yep, mercenary. However, I must admit I am also curious to see if NL will 1/ survive and 2/ actually deliver on the promises of a year+ ago. Will it be the Simurgh > Turkey > Swan of cg? Think of what you'd hope NL would do, and then think of the opposite of that. That's what usually happens...
AdamT
I lurk in over there once in a while, but I don't see a lot useful info. Mainly just a lot of grainy, mediocre renders, and excuses from the usual suspects.
Fran
I'm lovin' the response to a guy who had white noise on metal and plastic in his scene - "Maybe it's a caustic from the picture glass behind it." And to paraphrase the user's reply, "Oh thank you! Thank you! It can't be Maxwell, it must be me. Thank you!" I feel sick.
_PopArt
"Maybe its a caustic sent by god almighty himself directly to your virtual frame buffer" Not quite there yet:)
