skala67
I was at a website a few months ago for a company out of Los Angeles. I believe they made plugins and such. They also offered training at their facilities specifically for C4D (daily and weekly) I cant remember the company or the website. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Thanks,

jackb602
For training, you should also check out Cineversity, Maxon's new training site. It looks very promising, but I'm waiting for them to add some architecture-specific tutorials. Jack

If you're new to C4D or really just want to get on top of every aspect in the application... www.pixelcorps.com Dr Sassi covers the entire application, no kidding over 300 tutorials to date, Bite sized break downs. Truely incredible effort and very high quality training, imho. One note, you need to join the pixelcorps to get access, sorry. WDA

WDA You know I've been thinking pretty seriously about signing up for the Pixel Corps. The combination of training and getting to collaborate with all kinds of people sounds really interesting. How have you liked it? Jack
William Alexander
You know I've been thinking pretty seriously about signing up for the Pixel Corps. The combination of training and getting to collaborate with all kinds of people sounds really interesting. How have you liked it? Jack Been involved since the 'online beta'. Yes it's been a very good experience. It's many things to many different people being in the PXC. At the most basic level it's a smorgus board of all things CGVFX & Cinema/Film, Photography, Photogrammetry (panos, hdri, imagemodeling, match moving footage), modeling, texturing, UV mapping, matte textures, matte painting, animation, motion graphics, motion capture, digital film, video editing, podcasting audio & video... it's mind numbing trying to recount everything that can be explored. It's the whole nut. It is not a linear learning process but rather a place to explore what you are passionate about, an area of the industry you'd like to move toward, find others with similar interests.... play hard & have fun comes up very often as how and what to do. All with solid support, training and or community based, for the most part. Members range from retired 'hobiests' to IT proffessionals looking to explore thier creative side all the way to those who do broadcast & feature film work proffessionally, from all over the world. It's a 'Global' conversation and diversity is the strength-richness of it. Just the tip of the iceberg. There is a level beyond the 'community' aspects that are oriented to developing a production expereince for individuals and groups within the PXC. It's difficult to really explain what it is all about. Personally I've been saturated to the point of being overwhelmed. LOL Stuffed like I ate too much at the all you can eat smorgus board. Been under extreme pressure to finish my part of collaborations-crunch time with all the normal realities, system failures, frames with errors....what can go wrong will go wrong. Well that's where I like to be and what works for me. For many others the PXC is something as relaxing as taking pictures and creating Panoramic images. LOL some to the extreme levels of motion HDRI panos. For others it's just about learning the PXC version of Boujou, membership came with the purcahse..and others about doing thier own flims.....but generally for everyone it's about sharing knowledge and finding ways to work together & on things greater than we could alone. Like learning multiple applications, collaborations.... Sharing little tid bits to things of greater substance and in DR Sassi's case waaay beyond There's no way to divine through words if it's something for you. Best thing to do is give it a whirl if you've been considering it. Appears to be a lot of cool stuff coming up later this summer. Being in from the beggining (online) the development of the PXC is really heading in a very useful and powerful direction. Good things lie ahead, imho. If you do decide to join Jack, look me up under "Wax".
jackb602
Thanks for the detailed explanation. It sounds like there are alot of benefits to joining. I'm pretty sure I'll sign up for at least 3 months. I just want to wait until I know I'll have a relatively sane schedule. I'll definitely look you up once I join. Jack
