Hello All!!

I've been struggeling for way to long now with this problem! So i want to ask you for help. How do you deal with concrete?!? I realy can't seem to get it right, and when i see your wip an final pictures, the concrete looks great! So, how do you do it? where did you get the maps, what material settings do you use? I realy love to use concrete in my designs, but would love it even more to be able to visualise it properly!

Thanks in advance!

ps. mmmmmmm like the concrete :phttp://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/attachments/13310-sean-de-boer-finalx16165x-sean-de-boer-final.jpeg?d=1144474553

Try using this image in the Bump channel of your material. This is my favorite way of making stucco / concrete quickly and easily. Painting your maps is definitely a way to get a precise look, but for many situations, this map works for me. You have to apply a UVW Map modifier to the object (somewhere around 10' - 20' in Box mode) and I would suggest a Bump map amount of 30-100. Placing this in the Bump channel allows you to easily adjust your wall's color with the Diffuse color swatch.

What's your opinion about these arroway textures? is it realy possible to get a result like this with it?

I realy don't know how to paint them yourself like you guys describe above. So i'm thinking about buying a concrete texture pack like this. Or is this a waste of money because the alternative is realy easy (painting it yourself)?

I am in the process of making a full matlib for arroway textures volume 1 for arroway in Germany.

The arroway textures are extreme hi res and render out just as per your image.

very cheap too well worth the money !!!

50 euro is very cheap for a result like that indeed! But your saying that I should wait purchase till your finished?;) Will it be Vray matlibs? cause with the demo downloads i don't know where to place the specular map in the vray material.

Hi!

I'm trying to use the bump map you suggested, but I don't understand where to put these informations, I can't find them in the material properties. "UVW Map modifier to the object (somewhere around 10' - 20' in Box mode) and I would suggest a Bump map amount of 30-100."

Very thankful for any help

I would say it is all about the texture maps, and the best way to do it is to paint them yourself.

do you guys usually paint to fit each scene? object specific?

and if so, do you have a quick method of getting a template for an object out of max and getting the texture to fit easily....without external plugins
