alfienoakes
Did you change the quality setting in your IR map..? If so check what the "Blur GI" value is set to.. If it is not "0" this can cause light leaks..
drew101
Hi Andy, Yes I did change my IR settings and I upped my QMC bounces by 1 so I will check the Blur GI tonight and see what effect that has. Cheers
mhinks
A good improvment. Its looking really nice, the pillars on the left are looking a lot more grounded. The water is cool.
FlytE
looking much better drew. Personally I think the light did help and the water keeps looking better and better. I would now be inclined to work a little on the wood texture(s)
martincg
i agree, looking much much better than first one /water is perfect/ - try to use soft shadows in final - beam looks little strange shadowed - try to use smooth modifier on it
mahorela
mate, this is looking so good now. Your water is perfect and the warmth of the image is great. Much better with the tiles around the edge a different colour but you need to get some heavier bump mapping on them so as the grout is clearly defined, I feel this is a good opportunity to add great texture work to this image. As for the light spot in the corner, usually in my experience this is caused by a modelling error. Check your meshes in that corner, they might not be joined properly. alfienoakes
You are right about the modelling error Bob, that will show up as light leaks most of the time, but that will generally show up no matter what settings you use.. the error will always be there. Unless of course you use a really "fuzzy" setting. I had the problem with light leaks on a really tight model, and it turned out to be the "blur GI". When you use higher settings in Vray for your IR Map, ie, high animation, it changes the setting from "0" to "8".. Always worth a look on interiors. drew101
Hi Bob, I will check the model tonight Morning Andy, Where do I find the “blur GI” settings?
alfienoakes
Drew, Go to Renderer tab, then the "Irradiance Map" rollout. Where it says "Built-in Presets" you can change them to suit your scene. Check to see what you have chosen, then look under "basic parameters" the next settings down. It will have your min / max rates, subdivs etc.. then there will be Blur GI. You won't be able to change them though, as they are presets. What you need to do, is under "Current preset" change this to custom. It will keep all of your settings the same, but then you can change them manually. If blur GI is anything other than "0", then try changing it to "0"
