Hooch
Hi everyone. I am wanting to find out some information on where to get the best introduction training for 3ds max. I currently work as a sales director for a graphic design company and we are branching out into 3d architectural design. I would like to get into this type of thing myself so need to find the best training facilities available in the UK. Preferably in the North West area. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. DaveP
Hi Hooch, I have trained many Architectural People in 3dsmax/ADT/photoshop. We are based in Derbyshire, and have been using Max for about 12 years. The course is usually bespoke and tailored to your needs. If this interests you please send me your details to call you. regards david pickard
DaveP
I agree Wad, the best training companies are the ones who on a day to day basis run live projects and can then adapt that experience to the training courses.
notamondayfan
i learnt 3ds max as part of my uni course, and having a good lecturer really made a difference. theres loads of online free resources. i basically did loads of tutorials, mainly ones that looked interesting and challenging. mhinks
I also agree with Wad and DaveP. The best experience is real world. Having said that! Im looking to gain better techniques with in max for materials and animation. There is only so much you can gain from tutorials, if indeed there is a tut for the area you are interested in. And being put in the real world situ and having to work it out, or get by is sometimes not good! Im hoping to move companies soon, from a small studio where im the only 3d byg, to a larger studio where more of a team atmosphere and I can learn from others who have the knowledge. Nothing like looking oer a shoulder, or having someone sitting next to you to ask for help.
thatch
Manchester college of arts and technology teaches a 3ds max course, the evening class is tutored by a colleague of mine who is in the architectural viz business. I used to teach a maya class there and the facilities are really good, dual proc PCs etc, Check it out. http://www.mancat.ac.uk/adult/courses/course_finder.asp?location=%25&course=3ds+max&cat=oracle
