FlytE
Im interested in any advice that can be passed on regarding camera tilt and roll etc. I see lots of lovely images that have the camera slightly rolled (usually in conjunction with DOF) but its something i dont usually do. I sometimes try and rotate my image post production but always find that it just doesnt 'feel' right. I suspect this is probably because the composition wasnt suitable for camera roll. So i guess my question is, can anyone give any advice on how to achieve successful 'rolled' camera views in both pre-production, and post-production? Justin Hunt
I was once told by a photographer that the roll is used to breakup or lessen the vertical impact when there are alot of vertical elements in a scene, eg looking down a city street with high rise buildings on either side. In general, the old addage of less is more is very apt. Too much makes everything slide off the page. JHV
