ajvbochove
Is there a way to use a pre-made layer set in Max. I want to use the same layers that are used in our AutoCAD template. So there is no need to rename the layers after export from Max to CAD Thanks
JamesTaylor
if you file link CAD into max the same layer names are used in the layer editor, this the way i work
ajvbochove
I know. But when you start from scratch, no layers are included. You have to draw somethink in Cad and only that layer will include. Say I want to start from scratch in Max with the layers that I'm going to use in my cad file to add dimensions and to make Paperspace with multiple (with or without clipping planes) Viewport. When I re-export the Max to a file (override) than the export file is referenced to the ACAD drawing. That's the kind of workflow I want to accomplish. Matt Clementson
Create a new scene with the settings and layers you want then save this into the max\scenes directory and call it maxstart.max - this scene will auto load everytime you start max or do a reset.
