Dave Bond
OK - I am looking for a good solution to calibrate a few of our monitors to our new HP color printer. Is it possible to get a good hardware calibration device with software for about 5 or 600 dollars that will build profiles for using photoshop? I am looking for the best cost effective solution. We are haveing a terrible time getting prints to match gamma corrected screens without doing a lot of expensive test printing! Thanks!
bavanor
Currently I am using the X-rite xp pro. Which comes with a monaco optix calibration tool and software to make monitor, scanner and print profiles. check it out here http://www.chromix.com/colorgear/shop/productdetail.cxsa?toolid=1086&-session=tx:80C00E3E0f1d2114B7rxm109749A But, I have always had problems calibrating to a HP printer, especially the 1050, 1000 series. The large epson printers are much easier to calibrate, imho. Here is a site that goes over calibrating: http://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1A.html very technical but correct. Another solution, would be to continue doing test prints but on a small scale, 8.5x11 first then go and print large when you got it right. But, who wants to do that. Hope things work out. bavanor
I know it has been a while, but I just came across a great article on calibrating you monitor, and then going to print with calibration. http://www.fotoespresso.com/ open the 06/17/2006 issue of fotoespresso. The whole issue is dedicated to color management for computers. Very easy to understand and even has a review of the Huey monitor profile device.
