Sawyer
I am working on a building and I need a section cut through so you can see int and ext. I have come up with 2 options 1. To use Slice mod. This works well but I have 2 issues. a. Objects have no volume they are only faces so I need to add a cap hole mod which has different problems like capping holes in the wrong spot b. This lights the interior with exterior lighting. The work around I have is to use vray dome light. The dome light is not giving great shadows however. 2. Using camera clipping plane. This is cool and gives me a much better affect (It renders the walls a black because they receive no light and it isolates the interior from the exterior so I don't have to light everything with the dome light) but I dont have the control I need to adjust the angle of the clipping plane. It is parallel to the camera and thats that. Also I need to re-render the forground elements that I need. Is there any other option? I like the view plane because it doesn't really open up the building (and it keeps the interior lighting inside exterior lighting out) but I want more control of the cutting angle. frank1331
There used to be a plug-in you could but called ScalpelMax that worked really well, even with high poly counts. Not sure if its still available or if there is a better way
cdos00
Sawyer ScalpelMAX is developed by CEBAS software, I have included a link below. I haven't personally used the software but it looks AWESOME! http://www.cebas.com/products/products.php?UD=10-7888-33-788&PID=
Sawyer
I remember that. Anyone know if you can light the scene pre-cut then render the cut without the lighting taking into accountthe opening? I e-mailed Cebas.
