Dan J
Is it me or does it seem this line of work has been gaining demand over the last year? It seems there are many more postings for CGA's on the job board's these days. And it seems a number of large corporations are ramping up with this skill. Does anyone think this will take away some of their business? BTW-I've been living under a Grad school rock for the past year and I'm just poking my head out to see what's going on here lately. Thanks for the feedback.
Nic H
CG Architects? If you mean CG tech literate actual 'architects' then yes. At least in Australia there is ademand and need in the industry for people trained in design and the various ways of communicating and documenting architecture. As far as people trained in 3D who specialize in architectural visualization there is also a demand in Australia. Our office has trouble, alot of trouble finding anyone who has skills in 3Dmax, Vray, Archicad, basic PS etc.
John Dollus
May-June are typically high turnover months for many industries. Some to do with corporate financial cycles and some to do with the school year.
Dan J
I guess I didn't consider seperating the tech's from the arch's or designers. I have a arch degree, but my focus has been on the rendering side so I think of them as one in the same. Though I guess that has been changing over the past few years with more tech training degree programs out there. I see the point about annual turn over, but the number postings seem fairly consistent on the job board since the beginning of this year, about 20 or so per month. Maybe Jeff can say if there has been an increase in postings this year over last? Jeff?
