Virtual Partners
I usually don't have a lot of time to hang out on the boards so I'm not always up on all the Q&A but one thing I have noticed is that there are a lot of newbee questions that there are answers at no charge. I know many of you new to 3ds max are already aware of Ted Boardman. Ted has posted free tutorials in several places. For starters: Autodesk 3ds Max Who is Ted? Ted Boardman, an award-winning speaker and seasoned Autodesk® 3ds Max®/Autodesk® VIZ training consultant, will share his expertise as he conducts an online tutorial designed to get you up and running on Autodesk 3ds Max. Here is his posting for the Robotics folks on the Autodesk Site: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=1047962 Also there are a LOT of Tips and Tricks posted right on this site under Up Close with Ted Boardman on the CG Architect Site: http://www.cgarchitect.com We also have a lot of links to additional sites here: http://www.virtualpartners.com/Hot_Links.htm Further these are a bunch of older tutorials that may be of some help: See: http://www.virtualpartners.com/3DMAXfreeTutorialLinks.htm That's all the free stuff I can think of at the moment. Of course there are a multitude of Books and classes available but I'm assuming the free stuff will help many of you for starters. Virtual Partners
Yup, I am an old guy but I think your thinking of Ted Boardman with they very long beard, mine's a bit shorter. Just a note on the Free Tutorials at: http://www.virtualpartners.com/3DMA...torialLinks.htm I noticed I have to check some of the links. If you try a link like this for example: Lip Sync - Making Characters Speak The File Not found comes up. Not Found The requested document was not found on this server. Web Server at comet-cartoons.com HOWEVER! If you look at the string you can backspace back to a working page.http://www.comet-cartoons.com/toons...nc/lipsync.html Backspaced back to: http://www.comet-cartoons.com/ You see that this individual has updated his site and that's why the link is broken. So you need to do a little detective work in these cases and soonyou find he has moved his tutorialsto: http://www.comet-cartoons.com/3dhelp.php Wahla! You've now found even more free help. So the lesson here is not to bail too early. I'll do my best to go through these again and update them however thishappens a lot on some of these sites so you may want to remember notto be too quick to walk away from a File Not Found Message. There's Gold in Them Thar Hills. 8-) Enjoy, Murph
