nisus
Hi all, Whenever I try to re-use a saved FGM, MR still recalculates the FGM for the next render. (Yes, rebuild is off - lol!). I've done several tests but it seems that it just recalculates the FGM again and again, i.e. slow! As far as I know, the way to save out FGM is extremely simple. I just don't know what coudl go wron. Can anyone help me on this? rgds, nisus
Justin Hunt
Its not recalculating, it reading and checking that nother has changed and reapplying the FGM to the geometry. JHV
nisus
could be, but still it takes hours and hours... not much difference with or without imho... nisus
nisus
Hi, Could it be that FGM reacts strange when rendering 1) in a network environment 2) with DBR fyi: all fgm are saved to a central network location Did anyone noticed similair problems? rgds, nisus
Justin Hunt
When I save my FGMs to the server and occasionally there is a lag or dropout, but considering it is a very busy network its understandable. I would suggest storing them locally. What are your FG settings? JHV
nisus
Hi Justin, How do you save FGM local when you don't know what machine will eventually render it? my settings: FG 2000 (or FG200) r280-28 RTB 5595 for the ideal diffuse FGM-calculation next FG1 r2800-280 RTB 5505 for the final pass rgds, nisus
