wilky9
Hey guys, I've been asked to find the angle (maybe sight-line is a better way to say it) from a specific set of windows in our proposed building to a distant landmark (a mountaintop about 12 miles away). I have a rough placement on a site plan, and a floorplan to work from. They want to know if the mountain will be visible from these windows, or are other parts of the building going to block the view. And they want to know the angle from the window to the top of the peak. Any ideas on how to figure this out? Do I need more information?
khu
Hey, If you are provided with a topographical map you should be able to pull any necessary elevations to get the height of the mountain. You'll also want to make sure your building|plan is orientated to the same north as the topographical map and make sure you're using the same coordinate system. Did they provide you with an elevation of the building? I think that would be important too.
