Michael Emo
Anyone know how to change the default color of a 'Frozen' layer in Max? I always import CAD layers and then Freeze them. But I've always had trouble seeing lines unless I changed my UI Environment to have a black background. I know how to change the 'Active' color of the layer, but default color for Frozen Layers in Max is grey. And when I work in a UI with a grey background, obvisouly this doesn't work so well Thanks, Michael

Michael Emo
Thanks Rick! Guess I should have dug a little deeper. I went to the intial UI dialog box but I failed to wander down to Object: Geometry. Thank you. My eyes feel better already Michael

BrianKitts
hijacking this thread for a related question..... I can change the color of frozen objects, and I know how to tell an object to retain it's normal color when frozen..... but is there a way to globally set it in the scene so that all frozen objects retain their original color? (i'm giving it my first shot at totally abandoning form-z for modeling and going all max today, and I keep accidentally shifting objects)
Ricardo Eloy
Hum.... never thought of that... I guess you could set all objects to have their properties set by layer (Customize -> Preferences) and set your layers to do it. Not sure if you can create like a rule to every new layer, but I'm gonna look a little deeper into this one....
ameo
Select all objects, go to object Properties and uncheck "Show frozen in gray"

BrianKitts
Select all objects, go to object Properties and uncheck "Show frozen in gray" hmmm... not the full global change that I wanted.... such that as new objects are added you'd have to keep applying the change..... I was hoping there was a setting somewhere that would make the change apply to new objects as well.... but a good suggestion all the same.... thx
