Geoffc
So last night, I try EasyNat for the first time in a Viz house model I've been developing. I added some flowers, a couple small pines, then while playing with the settings, I added another tree at high res. Well, this raised the file size to 108 megs, and after I saved, crashed Viz. Now I can't reopen the file, it crashes Viz before I can get in to delete that tree.I only have 1 gig of ram, but will be adding another gig today, in the hope that helps. In the interim, if anyone has a computer with 'mas huevos' than mine, would you mind dloading the file, deleting the trees, saving it, and then using http://www.yousendit.com to send it back to me at geoffcaptain@yahoo.com? I'd really appreciate it! Here is the link to the file: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?actionfiltered=download&ufid=B8456AE04B8E4B17
BrianKitts
just create a new model on your machine, and merge in everything from the original model with the exception of the new plant stuff and save out your file without the plants,,,,
Geoffc
Doh! Great idea, I didn't even think of that. ... as you can tell I'm an autocad guy. thx!
Geoffc
So I did the merge, but it didn't bring in my environment settings, materials or vray settings. It's the materials I'm worried about. Then again, I'm still quite the newbie with viz/max, and material settings and I never seem to get along, perhaps I missed something when I merged the scene. So, if anyone still wants to open my file from the above link and delete the tree for me, I'd appreciate it.
manta
It probably did bring in your materials, they're just not in the material editor yet, you can use the eyedropper or the "get material" "From Scene" option to bring them into the material editor...
