Brian Cassil
Here's another thread where most of the options for editing and compositing are covered. http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/16676-sony-vegas-6-a.html
SunGlare
This shouldn't be 'OR' logical question, but 'AND'. You should work with combustion when postprod your motion pic, especially when your 3d is made by autodesk(things like RPF are wonderful). Then if You have Your scenes and takes completes put it toegether with application like Adobe Premiere. This isn't the only way, but this is the way I prefer. BttmLn: You cant do all the tricks in Premiere that you can do in combustion.
JamesTaylor
out of those two, i'd learn combustion. From my experience Premiere is quite restricted to basic editing functionings, transitions, cuts etc. Combustion will offer much more. check the autodesk website i'm sure there are plenty of tutorial / promo type videos you can watch which should give you a better idea of what each can do.
