bavanor
Well here are a couple of renders I did with sketchup. It was for the new Art School being built here at UGA. It helped in getting the project back on track. Aaron
Ricardo Eloy
Nice. Although, I've always thought photographic textures don't fit well in NPR...
bavanor
Rick are you talking about the brick and floor textures? Or something else? Just curious. Aaron
Ricardo Eloy
Actually, in a general way, most NPR images get really strange (imho) when use actual photos as textures. Call me square, but I really think photographic textures simply don't work in this kind of language.
bavanor
It is interesting that you say this Rick. Because quite a few architects in the office had some problems with these renderings (there were a lot more then just those 2). But, we couldn't figure out why. Now, about 3 weeks ago I did another project but tried and keep everything loose in the rendering department (to make the people feel that the project is still in design/conceptual face). So I specifically didn't use any of the textures/photos on the model. All of the architects that complained before had no problem with this project. In fact they all seemed surprised that is turned out so good. I will have to keep this in mind for future projects. Here are a couple views of the latest project.
