alekzab
i have this problem with cameras. I am using max 6 so when i render across the network the backburner cant access the camera scene as an xref. it will output an error saying cannot find camera. so what we are currently doing is merging the camera in the host file and then we render, so no problem with that...fine and dandy. my problem is the users who use the files. if they move my cam by a liitle it throws the animation off sync, since i am rendering in layers sometimes the composite wont line up. is there a way to lock the camera and keep users from moving it? this is max 6. thanks
BrianKitts
I don't remember if this was available or not in 6.... but to "lock" my cameras, I just right click on them and say "Freeze selected".... then their locked unless someone purposely unfreezes them.... alekzab
thats true, you can freeze the camera, but if you select the camera and go under that view you are able to move it with your zoom/pan buttons on the lower right.

3danim8d
Can you disable the viewport displaying the camera-pov so the other users can't dolly/truck/or zoom ?
Renato1
The other thing you can do is to lock the Move, rotate and scale of the camera. This is in the command Panel under the "Hierachy" tab in the "link info" tab. Just tick the boxes there and you will not be able to do anything with the camera.
