birbidouille
Hi, I'm a beginner and I just finished modeling main parts of my second exterior (the first one is just unshowable). It's a museum located in a (depopulated at this time) harbour. I wanted to add a street behind the big wall in the background, but what is the best way to do that ? Adding a picture like the second one or doing a low poly model ? The goal is some realistic integration if is it possible. What do you think about the textures (do you like extra-tiled wall and the general look of the building ? thanks in advance for your answers birbi
raterry
Birbi, Thats an interesting building. The modelling seems fine to me overall, is that a photo of the pilings and water or did you model? If so, nice job but a little dark and gloomy. The building textures don't really bother me but the wall behind needs work. I'm not sure the photo you've selected to place behind that wall would work as it seems it would be very out of place but it's hard to tell as I'm not sure of the context of where the building is located other than on water. The image looks overall really cold and lifeless but I think you know that so I'd 1st focus on finishing the building i.e windows, more detail, how do people enter, etc. and then think about what happens behind that wall (what is really there? anything?) and how it will relate to your building. Try various angles and compositions. Great start and look forward to updates. -=Rob
BrianKitts
doesn't look like too tricky of a shot, you should be able to drop it into your viewport and tweak your camera to line everything up pretty easily. side question.... is that amsterdam? birbidouille
Ok, here is the result. The first picture is a direct result of my first post: I conserved this crappy angle just to learn how to fake a city. Result is some milk boxes in the background with some amsterdam houses texture picked around on the net. The city part isn't realistic and I decided to apply PS filter to hide a little bit. The second picture is another view, there is lack of details in the foreground but it's a more "descriptive" view. You can see the building access and have a better look about the global form. So, Thanks for the replies and advice. I have to go back to max I've a lot af things to improve, yepee :-)
