matt_vinoir
well, its been a while since i had to do my cv but i need to apply for some summer work. i would like to know if any of you know of some examples i could have a look at. As you know architeural cv's are a beast all of their own!! I guess i need to get some graphic art books for inspiration too. Unfortunately i'm one of those anal people that need to have composition and layout in even the most banal thing. Even letter writing so i could spend ages getting it just right!! thanks guys!! p.s. just back from vienna, i seem to remember one of ther guys coming from there. If you do come from vienna, drop me a line i have a couple of questions cheers!
ingo
Hi matt, since when do you need an architectural cv if you want to work at McDonalds or Jennysandmaryspleasures ? All i can say is keep it simple, the people dont want to read endless writings, like the ones from nisus :ngesleep:
mzagorski
Matt... In my opinion... just use a simple CV. I've had a few architecture jobs, in the UK and in USA... and always sent a plain text only CV. Keep it simple, get the facts down.. and above all - Sell the fact that you can use computers very well. etc. The first arch. job that I got... when I went for the interview, they showed me a pile of about 50 applicants and said to me "Your the only one out of all these applicants that said you could use a computer and CAD" Nuff said... nisus
A simple cv has more to tell than an overload of issues... Be sure to add a description of the job you apply for... only 1/30 actually adds this in my experience... nisus

matt_vinoir
hi marc just visited a few housing schemes over there as research. One of them was by helmut richter. It think my friend is taking his unit at the university ( rather than everyone else taking will alsops course!) do you know anything more about his work? great place vienna. Appartently has only a couple of muggings a year rather than a second in london! cheers marc matt
plastic
hey matt, Originally posted by matt_vinoir: just visited a few housing schemes over there as research. One of them was by helmut richter. It think my friend is taking his unit at the university ( rather than everyone else taking will alsops course!) hehe, i just started with this unit(?) at uni. it's called "die richter übung" (the richter excercise). apparently mr. richter is one of the old school architects. he loves clever construction details and has no eye for computer generated 3d pics. it's not goint to be easy for me great place vienna. Appartently has only a couple of muggings a year rather than a second in london! well, depends where you go, but vienna is more silent than paris or london, that's for sure.
