borisko
Hi, I need some advice from experts:) I'm looking for a job at this moment and I want to be as more prepared as I can with architecture software knowledge. I'm using autocad for 8 years but as I see it, it's only substitution for pencil and table. Archicad is very popular in my country but I'm using autocad, max+vray, rhino for years and I want to stay in that logic. I'm interested what is main difference between Architectural Desktop and AutoCAD Revit? Which is more suitable for small architectural offices? In other words - which to choose to learn. Kerry Thompson
Hi Having used both, I would recommend Revit. It will build on your existing AutoCAD workflow. ADT is an excellent product and most things are achievable but, in my opinion, ADT represents a past generation of technology. The overhead to implement and maintain it is significant. I use Revit extensively for modeling and I find the models are quicker to produce BUT also very easy to change late in the process. I use AutoCAD as the link interface to between Revit and Viz. Cheers Kerry
Videha
agree with Kerry i worked with ADT since ver.2 and gave revit a try 4 mounth ago also dit a course in Archicat revit is very flexible and very easey to learn and the models work well with Viz. i found archicat confusing at times and based on old technologie. go for revit and learn the family editor you will not regrett it.
