don't quite get the thread title, anyhow what software are you using to render with. I like the image and I like your furniture, placement but I think this could be rendered a little cleaner and your lighting could be improved. Will comment some more when I know what your using.

i just named it that cuz of the books and paper on the table...(just tired of naming threads literally, a sick form of self amusement...haha)

 

Anyways, I am using Cinema4D and its built in renderer. Havent quite figured out the lighting, but then again lighting has always been a struggle for me.

 

Any tips/suggestions would be so greatly appreciated, ecspecially relating to lighting.....

always used to be a problem for me as well, before I got Vray that is. I'm not too sure what the standard c4d renderer is capable of but I think if you just warmed your lights up a bit you could get better results. Try just tinting your light sources a light shade of yellow or a slight orange for this time of day. I also think that you need to create some more dramatic lighting with this image, the lighting looks very even throughout and I think that if there were more dramatic areas of darkness and shadow it would look better.
