You need to go into Sound on the System Prefs and set to line in and crank up the level, get a cable for that, also check the input in the Garage Band prefs and make a new Real Instrument track. Then choose the guitar sound you want (you can edit these) and it's a bit finicky but you need to turn monitor on for the track then hit record and then pause it. Turn volume on your guitar to 11 (and even still Apple tells you to get a preamp) because the specs for guitar and computer are not the same.

Last week I inherited an SG from maybe 1965-67. With a Princeton tube amp from the same time that I haven't brought home yet, but I'm told it's very loud. I think I need to have these appraised and insured.

Can anybody tell me what the color is called? The cherry color they sell now is much more red.

Now I need to get a lot better at playing it...

thats beautiful! where'd you get that?

  • 1 month later...

see you've already got your roadies sorted mate :)

i'm in the middle of building a new guitar for myself. not scratch building, but cobbling one together from bits of other guitars. i'm at the body stage. just sanding down and preparing to spray.

it's going to be a white strat with all gold hardware :)
