Exar Kun
Ok, so here's an easy question with a probably not so easy answer - What is the simplest, most effective way to create windows that are over exposed as seen in this shot? I'm familiar with the scanline renderer and a little with mental ray but have never touched vray so would prefer to steer clear of that option. arquiteck09
you can put your background totally white and with some masking in photoshop apply some glow, for a first try.
pailhead
Yeah, definitely. Either that or a plane with 100% white self illumination material, you could even add glow in videopost that way.
AJLynn
Several ways - self-illuminating material, material with an output shader (mental ray), post in Max with an effect for glow, Photoshop bloom it (Google it), but my preference would probably be mental ray, output shader, final gather and use the Glare camera shader - this is not enabled by default but if you Google 3dsmax mental ray hidden glare shader you will find instructions for using it. Touch up in Photoshop.

Camby1298
I agree with Andrew. In fact you can go here to Jeff Pattons page and he shows you exactly how to do it: http://jeffpatton.net/Tips-page.htm Good Luck!
