Carrotious
Can anyone explain to me why I am getting these shade variations on my flat surface. I have tried playing with the triangulation of the polygons but with little success.... Thanks y'all
Koper
Maybe try getting them into one smoothing group, or you can try cutting the poly's from one vertex to another from where the edges originates. maybe it works, good luck
arquiteck09
did you use boolean operation ?? i think that can cause this problems, bad meshes.
d.sign
It seems to me that surfaces is not completely flat. If it is curved, best way would be to rebuild the surface using low poly method. Use this surface as a guide and start with a simple plane, convert to poly and shift/drag the edges to get close aproximation of the surface. Use all for viewports to do this. Than add mesh smooth or turbo smooth modifier. This is not so precise, but it is intuitive method and it could be corrected easy to get the desired results. Check out some car modeling tutorials to see what I am talking about... This way you are dealing with polygonal geometry not with triangles and adjusting the smooth level you can get more or less smoothed surface. If surfaces is flat, than you also need to gert rid of the triangles and get polygonal geometry, so low poly method could work also...
notamondayfan
try manually cut and pasting the coords so u know they are all in line.
