kypuram
hi, is there some one who is really happy using exponential color mapping for exteriors, using vray it always washes away the material color, i wonder how christopher nichols ( Gnomon DVD ) gets his rendering with great contrast by using exponential color mapping
Christopher Nichols
Use less light and darker (more realistic) materials.
kypuram
thanks chris just out of curiosity, is exponential better than hsv exponential
Christopher Nichols
Exponential puts a gamma (exponential) curve on RGB meaning that your image will have the side effect that is seems less saturated in the darks and mids. HSV will try preserve the saturation by only adding the curve on the value. hmmm... well, pretty sure that is it, 99.9%, so don't quote me on that.
