parissearles
I hate the way the Italians play their football. So defensive! so ugly ! Then of course there is the matter of the match fixing. Its a shame it that this country has been rewarded. Anyhow this is life. I hope in 4 years they wont be there.

IC
It really doesn't matter what was said to Zidane. He deserved to be sent off. No question. I went from being neutral to supporting Italy after that.
STRAT
my claim to fame - other than accidently watching the news snippets, i didn't watch 1 ball in the world cup being kicked congrats to Italy though

The match fixing is at the top, so how about to know the facts before you place a comment like that. Everybody deserves their time in the sun.......... why not italy. phil
pirallah
The game wasn't spectacular, and ZZ was quite a disappointment. But then, someone had to win...might as well have tossed coins at the start, avoided all that hassle of running around kicking ball and butting heads haha! Congrats Italy! Enjoy it while it lasts. Brazil will get you next time!
JamesTaylor
i was hoping france would win, as said earlier italy's style of play is boring and ugly (although england certain weren't any better) gattuso was brilliant in stopping zidane and france were superb against brazil when he was allowed to play. i think that marco had a little twist of ZZ's nipple when he put his arm around him moments before zidane turned into a stag, which is just as bad....just because its not seen doesn't mean he didn't know what he was doing in trying to wind up an opposing player........not to excuse ZZ tho! shame its over.....was loving 3 games a day to begin with!! notamondayfan
nice 1 italy. i was kinda hoping france wud win, and give ZZ a propper send off (as he is 1 of the best players ever), but it wasnt to be.

Ricardo Eloy
It's a shame what ZZ did... I mean, the guy was being called the Cup's top player already, not to mention that was his last professional match... what a way to retire... But, just out of curiosity, it's said there is a curse in the history of World Cups... The teams that beat Brasil in a final never get to be champions again... Happened to Uruguay, now is happening to France. I don't believe in anything like that, but it's a funny story, nevertheless.

bigroo
Buffon also contributed to the verbal attack on ZZ. If as quoted earlier was correct that was disgraceful but gamesmanship is rife at all levels and you ned to curb the level of response even if you do not have to play tomorrow.
