Vince Paske Posted May 10, 2007 Share Posted May 10, 2007 This is the correct answer. I fought this for quite awhile. Lower this setting from 1.0 to 0.1 and everything will be smooth. Yeah, this is the variable that controls how smooth curved geometry comes into 3dMax. I usually go even lower than that - .001 does wonders. The other posts got sort of off track, Viju was asking about how to import geometry into 3dsMax with smooth curves, a lot of the threads were about how to export out of Autocad. The facetres variable in Autocad doesn't have any effect on Autocad geometry that you bring in directly using the File Link Manager or the Import box. What are the advantages to export it out first to .3ds and then into max? Just kind of curious. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
