gfa2
Yeah, what renderer are you using. I used to get that kind of thing with RPC's. The way I fixed that was to stop using them .

AJLynn
It's the mental ray splotches. Do you have multi/sub materials? There's a bug that triggers when combining multi/sub with certain material types...

bdonay
try removing any reflective materials: glass, metals, etc.
Justin Hunt
Not too sure if these will help the splotches but some of your settings are strange 1) Why image sample 64/256? 1/4 16 should be more than enough 2) Trace depth should be the sum of Max Reflect and Max Refract 3) Increase your average photons per light and drop the decay 4) FG samples can be as low as 20 if you are using enough Photons (and will be quicker) 5) Increase FG trace depth (Same theory as point 2) 6) Max bounce can be 1 or more to get better results HTH JHV
dnagi
I change my settings according to your suggestions, but it thru my rendering time to the roof. I went froim say 5 hours to twice that. Is this normal?
Justin Hunt
No I would have thought that it would have rendered in a fraction of the time can you repost your settings along with your light settings What happened to the splotches? JHV
