mooney102
Hello all, I am creating a sun and shadow study animation in max 8, also using vray and combustion. I want to add a timer on the animation to show the precise time of the day to match the animation of the sun. I would like to add this in post. I am using a daylight system with the correct location. Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks
Ricardo Eloy
I remember there was a script that creates a text with the hour, changing it according to the time set in the daylight system. Don't remember the name, but shouldn't be hard to script it, anyway.

raterry
looking for same thing. Need a time of day stamp for animated shadow study. I found the solar time script on scriptspot and downloaded it but it does not seem to run. Has anyone tried this and have it work or is there another one out there I could try? Thanks. -=Rob
wasteland giant
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/solar-time bump. I'm on max 2010 and this thing don't work. Anyone knows a work around? They REALLy need to patch this somehow into max, because if sketchup can do something similar really easily..
alias_marks
This isn't completely 150% accurate, but I found it close enough for when I was doing something similar... http://vimeo.com/8904804 basically I rendered 5 images and noted their exact time alla the perez weather system files... then keyframed a timer accordingly in after effects. Dropping a timer in after effects is pretty straight forward... if you have trouble I can try to give a more step by step. if you search for timer in after effects there's a widget that dies exactly what your looking for. *edit. my apologies, I see you are using combustion... not sure what the equivilet would be there...
