I have had great success with "EXPONENTIAL". Leave clamping on. I am using an HDRI in the V-Ray environment slot and a V-Ray sphere, no decay, for the direct sunlight. Good luck.

thanks for your reply, well is it always required to make your materials a bit dark n saturated, when you use exponential, as lighter materials get more desaturated,

 

and also, can you share in general your AA, and irmap basic settings,

that would require breaking the law, and stealing software that you do not own.

 

Also a very good going, but I would also add to this that ther Vray Sun and Sky is not the answer to everything and that the method metioned by Parker1 (when done well) will give you much better results.

What settings for bright and dark mutlipliers have you had success with?

I do not touch them...1.0 and 1.0 default all the way. I feel that if you light the scene correctly you should not need to adjust the b & d mult. Adjust HDRI mult. and VRay sphere mult. until you are satisfied.

 

So CHRIS...what does "When done well" mean? Please elaborate for the benefit of the group.
