Still a workin progress but here's my latest work for an architect. He chose colors, cam angle, and wanted people on the entry..so it's pretty much his call but just posting up my progress so far...c&c away:D

Hey Nooxy, hows things on the beautiful Island?

Nice start on the render. A few quick things that jump out at me are

1) where your materials meet is too clean. For instance the tile on the porch looks as if it's flat as paper, no transition from the tile to the yellow stucco, similar issue with the roof.

2) the 2 whitish vertical lines/seams on the roof are distracting

3) you may want to rethink the use of the boy as it's one of those problems you often find with RPCs but the shadow and light source direction of your scene is directly and obviously conflicting with the lighting on the boy, or you can always change the direction of the sunlight to match him if say it the architects son which wouldn't suprise me considering he's making so many decisions on the anyway;)

Hi Nooxy,

I agree with Raterry on all comments, and I should add:

1) the grass looks too flat and out of scale.

2) planes and materials need volume

3) the sun light needs more contrast, you wouldn't see a shadow so smooth on a environment this bright.

4) the post-production needs more attention, compare the shadow of the boy to the woman's. The woman is considerably taller and bigger than the boy, and the light doesn't seem to match them either.

5) the glasses look too transparent, and should reflect more of the environment because the interior isn't lit.

6) and finally, the sky map doesn't seem to fit, I think it's the color or tones, as well as the sun light of the bitmap, that seems to be coming from behind of the clouds.

Hope it helps,

Keep up!

hello NOOXY, are you fine?

maybe you could add some shadow under the plant and if you can try to desaturate a little the yellow (what a great color! it's burn the eyes!).

maybe you can make 3d tiles for the roof?

I like very much the grass!
