rhciv
Hello, noob member here, I am researching new cad platforms, I have a hard time excerising the Demo versions before they time out. I am currently looking @ three; Proge(intellicad) , Archicad (cant plot) and Revit. I currently use Arris for residential design. Does Revit have the verstility to artistially represent your CD's. And do they allow you to create curtainwalls (stacked Windows with curves and traps at the top) effectively enough for good 3D generation? Can detailing like muntins and unequal sashes be easily modeled? Tryin to keep it short TIA, rhciv
Richard McCarthy
I think Revit is the easiest one to use to create mullion and detailings for it (you can model in parametric 3D or draft it in 2D). That's not to say that it is EASY, because it can get very complicated quickly. For a complete new user, the task can be a bit daunting. But I think comparing to other application, Revit is a bit easier to do this in this regard. Curtain wall creation is actually VERY EASY to do in Revit, the hard part is the creation of details. Download Revit and try it out yourself (follow the included tutorial on curtain wall) I also recommend trying out ArchiCAD. Since workflow, and interface are really down to personal liking nowadays. rhciv
Hello Richard, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I hope to make time to learn the Revit software. Perhaps it is the new secret weapon marketing protrays. Have a Great Day.
