sorin maximilian
hello averybody I just joined the forum today I may not come with anything new but there it is: I just bought a dell precision M90 duble processor and 2G RAM I was lucky enough to have one of the meory chips broken Until they replaced it, I made a little test I rendered a scene with 1G and then I did the same thing with 2G there was absolutely no difference, not even a second So my question is: in speeding the rendering time we should count just on computing power and than wher the RAM becomes critical I am MAX user I feel that this is something that might have been discusses over and over again so if you just send me back to an old thread I won't feel hurt thanks sorin
Brian Smith
Hi Sorin, Yes RAM only has an effect on rendering times when you run out. Even for the smallest of scenes though I would say 1GB is the minimum you want, although Max will run on half that. Graphic cards also has no effect on rendering times but will certainly effect your ability to work efficiently in large scenes (because of refresh times). Welcome!
