phildlight
Hi All. I'm just researching here, but who would be interested in a free online architecutral portfolio site? We're thinking about launching one, and I thought I'd check here for interest. It would be 100% free, and allow you to link your images to any other site you like. I'd post a poll, but I don't know how to on this site. Thanks, Phil
Jeff Mottle
I've just added a poll for you. Cheers, Jeff

Msamir
Would it have a limited number of images per account ?
phildlight
We're currently about 3 weeks from launching a site that requires an online portfolio system, and we thought, well, if we need this thing, and we're launching it anyway, what if we launched the portfolio system as a stand alone site? So to answer the last post, the general idea would be that there would be some limit to your free account. The members to our other site however would have unlimited storage as part of their membership. I'll post here when it's done too. Thanks for the responses. That gave me the research information I was lookiing for. I wanted to see if it would be an overwhelming response. If we go ahead and launch the site, I'll post it here. Thanks again! mskin
Let me be the strange guy in the strange world, but im going to say no. not that i dont wish the best of luck to you, but I (like many others here) have my own website with my own portfolio that i can direct my prospective clients toward. I love the wip and finished works here to view others work and i like checking out there websites/portfolios etc... . Maybe instead of a "open" portfolio format, how about a "best rendering" kind of format. Maybe even with an american idol type of spin... people critique, comment, vote and choose there favorite renderings that are displayed in some format. I don't know, once again... best of luck with this and despite my pessamism (and probable spelling inadequacies) i will check it out.

tayrona
I would like to.... I dont agree with mskin, I mean, I have my webpage too and I send it everywhere... but you dont always know who is looking for you. to appear in an open web portafolio let the seeker to compare easily... I know a website only for TRASLATORS and is a very specialized option (www.proz.com).
Justin Hunt
I suggested it a few months ago, but got no responce. I like the way its done on CGTalk, except that unless you are a paying member you are limited in the number of images you can display. What I would like is a arch Viz industry specific portfolio. Often I would like to see some members work but dont have the time or effort to trawl through the search engine looking for past posts. I dont have a web site, its been in the planning for years. So I direct people to my CGtalk portfolio and here to specific threads that I have posted. I would rather direct people to either an archviz portfolio or to the artys portfolio, depending on what I want to show them. JHV
