steveblake
I've been toying around with Vray demo the last few days and i'm finding it quite strange. Each time I do a render (even from within the Vray Scene Dialog panel) the settings I have adjusted flick back to defaults. Quite annoying. Am I doing something wrong?? I'm also finding the whole process actually quite slow. I know we're dealing with lots of data being processed here, but I'm used to seeing slightly faster feedback - guess I'm spoilt by having used Fprime for the last few months. Regardless - I'm determined to get going with Vray, does it get any easier once you've used it for a bit?
Crazy Homeless Guy
i thought it was each time you saved it flipped back to default settings, but either way, an easy way to test settings without having to wright everything down, and re-enter it each time is to use the presets on the system rollout tab. create your settings, then save them as a preset. manta
Its probably the autobak function causing this, it used to do that with the dreamscape demo...
steveblake
...many thanks for the tips guys - that was it. It's all slowly making sense!
steveblake
I'm confused again. Turning off autobak function *did* help, but I'm finding that when I 'Save Preset' (not saving the scene file at all) - the defaults flip back and then that preset is saved without any new settings at all. Perhaps this is a limitation of the demo?
steveblake
sorry to go on and on about this, but can anyone shed some light? (pun intended) Still having problems saving presets - When i do it doesn't save anything Ive just set up, just the defaults. Then the render panel gets reset again too.. be nice not to have to re-input my settings everytime I upadate, save or reopen the scene...
