1eo
I just got the Nigerian "I'll deposit $9M" scam from an e-mail trying to appear as an CGarchitect.com e-mail account. Before I open the e-mail, it looked like I got an e-mail from: senator_dagashsanusi@CGarchitect.com Once I opened the email showed like this: FROM: "senator_dagashsanusi @ CGarchitect.com" This is a message from senator_dagashsanusi at CGarchitect.com ( http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/ ). The CGarchitect.com owners cannot accept any responsibility for the contents of the email. To email senator_dagashsanusi, you can use this online form: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/sendmessage.php?do=mailmember&u=17706 OR, by email: mailto:senator-dagashsanusi@myway.com This is the message: Dear Friend, Naturally, this letter will come to you as a surprise since we have not met, permit me however, my name is Senator Dagash Sanusi the chairman for the committee on Pension, insurance and manpower development in the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am writing you to earnestly Solicit for your assistance in helping to receive some sum of money. I got your e-mail address through an Internet marketing firm while searching for a reliable and reputable person to handle this transaction. THE PROPOSITION: We have the sum of US$19,500,000.00 (Ninety Million five hundred thousand Dollars) that we intend to transfer overseas through the assistance of a foreign partner. This money came as a result of over provision in the budget for unclaimed pension and accident insurance. This over provision was done by my committee but all payments have been made to beneficiaries leaving behind the over budgeted amount which amounts to US$9,500,000.00 which is deposited in the National Development Bank here in Nigeria. I have agreed to transfer the funds overseas for my campaign funding, private use and for investment purposes with your help. I am contacting you therefore, to stand in as the beneficiary to process this fund into your custody. As soon as you consent to this I will immediately send you title documents to the fund in your name so you can make claim for it. I will provide you with 30% for assisting us and 5% to be set aside for reimbursement for expenses that may arise during the process of concluding the transaction. The fund shall be transferred to you legally in accordance to all laid down procedures governing transfer of funds. I have perfected all modalities for the successful transfer of this money to you as the beneficiary. Finally, I have to reassure you that this transaction is risk free and should be kept absolutely confidential. Presently, you can reach me by return mail, you should also include your telephone numbers if any, for secured communication between us. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation. I await your response. Also Note that we need to conclude this transaction before the end of next month as we can still make payments from last years budget till this time. Senator Dagash Sanusi Regards, Leonardo

brianzajac
I have a couple of web sites and I used to get this type of email, phishing emails, and other spam-type emails. I'm not sure exactly how they can take any email address from any domain name. But, I do know that they use spidering techniques (similar to what Google does to index websites) to get your email address (from your signatures and profiles). From there, they send out a fake email address from the originating site where the spider got this from. To prevent this, I keep my systems up-to-date with the latest MS patches (read more about phishing, email scams, etc... at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/columns/saferbrowsing.mspx) and this does help quite a bit. What they are doing is making the user name to look like an e-mail cgarchitects address. What bother me is that they most likely found my address by browsing this site leo

Simon Moir
I happen to know Senator Sanusi, he paid $650,000 into my offshore account last month. He is a very trustworthy man, I would not hesitate to recommend this lucrative yet legitimate business oppurtunity to you.
